Enough for MIT?

SAT: 1480
GPA: 3.90 ish
Awards/Extracurric:
Inducted into MAT
USAMO Qualifier
ISEF Grand Award Winner for Category
Mathematics Club Officer

Are these qualifications enough to get into MIT?
I’m from Nanjing by the way.

Impossible to tell. Your scores and GPA are in the ballpark, and USAMO + ISEF Grand Award will make an impression. You should be competitive. But MIT will evaluate you as a person, not as a list of stats and trophies.

The qualifications you posted do nothing that would prevent consideration of your application. But as @renaissancedad noted, it’s impossible to tell. Even if you had a perfect academic profile and stellar EC’s, no one could tell you…

This MIT adcom post may be a few years old, but it’s still relevant.

Don’t take this as discouragement. If MIT is where you’d love to be, then do apply, give it your all, and make sure all your “Plan B” school applications are in place.

The only certainty is that the OP will have a 0% chance of admission if he/she doesn’t apply.
