On the October PSAT I scored a 1640/2400 which I know is very low. I'm a Junior just signed up for the June SAT. My ideal goal is a 2100/2400 on the SAT, do I have enough time to reach this goal by June? Thanks

did you have any one section where you scored particularly low? try and focus on improving your weak points, you'll find the largest magnitude of score improvement there.

with the time you have, if you do some intesive prepping w/ blue book + others, you should be above 2000 at least by june. try and take many practice tests, and remember to read the explanations so you actually learn from mistakes. good luck!

Yes, but you'll need to study very, very hard.

I went from 1800 to 2170, so you should know that it's not impossible.

When I first took the test, I didn't know the formulas for lines, circles, squares, common area stuff, graphing, functions, basic grammar, most words, etc.

but I studied hard and got up to speed.

Long story short: you can, but it'll take a lot of hard work (but it'll be worth it, you'll be a better mathematician and reader in light of it).

What were your scores on the individual sections

Scores: 65-Math, 50-Critical Reading, 49-Writing. I'm not worried about the Writing or Math, just CR. This was without any Prep. Thanks for the responses.

I think you can probably improve your scores a lot just by going through any SAT prep book, and a smart friend/teacher to explain stuff to you that you don't get.

A lot of the stuff on the SAT is really easy, it just helps to be familiar with it before taking the test.

Try using the blue book and just read through the strategies, and take a practice test or two untimed.

Go through the questions and ask someone to explain to you the ones you didn't get. I think if you do this and devote yourself to getting a higher score, you'll be fine.
