Right now my parents want me to enroll to ensure housing, incase I decide to go. I'm about 50/50 whether I want to go or not, so I don't want to be bound and have to go if I decide to go with my other choice. Am I bound, or can I enroll, decide against going, and just lose my deposit?

That's exactly how it works. Make the deposit, decide if you want to go or not, and if you don't, all you lose is the deposit. At least, this is what I know not only from the college I'm presently at (not Rutgers, just for the record) but it's what I learned while trying to figure out which college to go to.

I also think that's a smart thing to do with Rutgers. Since it's a big school, you want to make sure you're going to get housing if there isn't any chance of you commuting.

That's what I thought but with something like this I figured I should err on the side of caution...thanks for the response

No problem. :)

yap u can enroll and pay the deposit.if you later decide not to go all ul loose is the deposit money.
