I am really worried that if i don't commit ASAP something might happen or that enrollment will fill up or ill get crappy housing. Should i be worried?

I am a senior in HS and I applied to 17 schools ( ik a lot) ive gotten into 6 so far and i'm waiting to hear back about my financial aid before i make a decision or to hear back from my remaining schools. They dont notify me until late March or April.
As of right now RUTGERS is my top choice and im pretty sure i would choose it over any of my other schools.
But i think i should wait until my financial aid reward comes back and for the other schools to get back to me.
or does it not matter since i dont plan on going to them?

If i wait until April will there be consequences?

My son waited until May to commit and he still got housing. I don’t think the housing assignments has anything to do with when you commit. Somebody please correct me if I am wrong.

Freshmen are guaranteed housing as long as they reply by the housing application deadline date (I think it’s in June). However, the later you apply, the more likely you are to end up on Livingston where most of the freshmen housing is located.

Some people prefer Busch or College Ave, which have smaller quantities of freshmen housing, so if you want to live there, it helps to apply earlier than the deadline date (March or early April). You are allowed to specify a campus choice on your application, but it is only a request and is not guaranteed.
