<p>We received an Enrollment Certification stating D2's "Anticipated Graduation Date: 5/1/2018" I called Tulane Registrar's Office, who informed me this misstatement (should be 2017) is done intentionally! "Just in case," they said. Sounds ridiculous to me inasmuch as 2017 is truly "anticipated." But, don't bother calling if you receive this and you are panicked.</p>
<p>That seems odd. What is the purpose of this? Did they do this for your first? I cannot recall such a thing, but maybe I never saw it if it came. Is it to have something to verify enrollment at an accredited school in case banks, scholarship organizations and others require such proof? As far as the date, I guess that does make some sense, since enough students (like my D) purposely take extra time before graduating so they just build in the extra year to cover the vast majority of students. Still, I am having trouble understanding the purpose of it.</p>
