So, I applied RD to Tulane and on their website it says you'll be notified "on or before April 1," but I've been hearing and reading things about RD applicants already being notified... So, is Tulane working on a rolling schedule? In other words, should I be prepared for an email from them whenever, or should I put it out of my mind until March 31? If you actually know the answer to my question, please respond, but if you're just bored and want to attack a new thread, please refrain. Serious answers only, not educated guesses from people who don't know what they're talking about (although that is kind of the nature of this site).

Thaaaanks

LOL, that’s a lot of qualifiers. Anyway, Tulane officially is a March 31 notification school, but in practice notifies applicants on a continuing (rolling) basis. Confusing, I know. Essentially boils down to they only promise an answer by April 1, but will tell slam-dunk positives and negatives sooner, and wait on the borderline applicants to see how the class is shaping up. Hope that helps clarify things for you.

Perfect! Yes it does. Thanks so much!

Was just wondering…

D got the initial email that sent her to a portal that said it would send her another password etc within 24 hours. She never received that but there has been a huge problem with her school’s email sending things to spam, so I know it’s just not her. I think she actually asked for it to be sent again, or said she forgot user name to have it resent, not sure on that.

In any event, for those who are not obsessively checking a portal (or their parents), do they send you an email to say decisions are out, send acceptances in the mail…?

Based on the above, I am thinking that no news has been relatively good news. Her Dad is an alum and I know he would be thrilled if she was accepted, but at this point I am just trying to discern how she’s going to get the info!

I think you can click on the link for “forgot username or password” at gibson.tulane.edu and it will send the information to whatever email address is on file for the applicant. I think when my son applied last year, he had the username that was assigned to him when he applied, but the password was a very long time in coming for whatever reason, so we just tried that and it worked! You might want to check it because in some cases, the documents don’t all find their way to the file and that could be holding up a decision.
Good luck!
