Okay, so I just came back from Orientation 103 ... and I was feeling pretty confident about my schedule. But one of my classes is Korean 1 and apparently I wasn't supposed to enroll in it yet because I have yet to take a placement exam.

so i have two questions

1) is it okay that i enrolled anyway? ill probably qualify by getting an extremely low score anyway on the placement test.

2) if it's not okay that i enrolled, when is the next time I can change my enrolled classes so i could change it?

You can change it anytime after I'm pretty sure, that's what I did. I changed it online at home because my AP score that gives me credit for I believe the Entry Writing requirement wasn't processed yet at the time of the first orientation session. I waited for it to be processed and enrolled in EngComp3 instead of Stats fall quarter.

I'm taking an entry-level language course for fall quarter as well and was presented with the same issue. I managed to enroll in the course before taking the placement exam. I contacted someone from my department and was notified that I could bypass the language placement exam with communication with my professor (permission). I was also given the option of taking the exam 2 hours after my very first lecture too.

I'm assuming you are to do the same. I think you should check with whoever's in charge with the korean language sequence to be sure of what you are to do.

Also, there is a "shopping around" period during the first two weeks of the quarter to add/drop courses, right? (with no penalty of course)
