Here is a link to the enrollment numbers for Fall 2010. I did not realize that there were 1347 freshman engineering students compared with 577 freshman business students. I guess I thought the Business school had more students. Overall the Business school has roughly 3000 students. I would think that would make the Business school competitive to get into.

It is generally acknowledged on this board that business is the most competitive college to get in to.

It can be argued, though, that weak applicants are more likely to apply to business than engineering, for supposedly most of the engineering applicants are strong.

It’s all up for debate, but for those on this board much more knowledgable than I, business at UIUC is competitive relative to other UIUC programs.

I do understand that Business is very competitive to get into. I was just adding that the numbers are there to support the competition. 577 freshman business students does not seem like a lot in a school of 30,000 with 7400 freshman last year.
