Environmental Science Major - I'm not sure

Hello,
Since 8th grade I have taken a particular interest in environmental science, even earning national recognition is science competitions and getting a 4 on the AP environmental science test without actually taking the class. This is a subject which I am very passionate about it and have invested a large portion of the past 2 years of my life. No i am in 10th grade and wondering what major to pursue, I feel like science is the right path for me as well as the fact that I am passionate about the rights of people and the earth, i feel like this would be the perfect major for me because i am passionate about this subject but i don’t know many people who have pursued this major, whether their are many career options open for me after college, or if positions like director of the EPA and such even matter after the Trump administration and if there still is a future for that carer and for me. I was wondering if anyone could help steer me in the right directions.

Yes, it is still a valid career option. Trump isn’t president forever. Plus, there are many, many private sector applications. That being said, you don’t need to set a career path in stone right now, or even when you start college. Keep exploring the field, take some classes once you enter college, and go from there. But, it sounds like a great career path combining something you have an aptitude for and a passion in, plus helping others and the planet. Good luck!
