I recently received a letter and email about being selected to attend the “Envision Game & Technology Academy Powered by George Mason University Computer Game Design Program”, and I’d honestly like to go if this isn’t some sort of scam. Supposedly, I was selected “through our academic partnership with George Mason University…” and not because I was a good student or anything. It brings up previous alumni from my school who supposedly attended and even includes a list of 16 of them who attended and what year they attended. I managed to find 2 of their face book accounts (I stopped after 4 because I was a bit lazy) and messaged one of them. They responded within a few minutes, which seems kind of suspicious to me, but then again they could’ve just been browsing fb anyways. The person responded by saying that they loved it, “revived college credits for it”, and that they went there for medicine instead of what I got in for.
So the real question is this probably terribly formatted paragraph is whether or not this seems like a scam. So, is it?
