EOP at Stonybrook and Binghamton

How compeitive is the EOP program at both of these SUNYs? What do generally EOP students get on their SAT and got in? If i have something like around a 1600 with the writing included, would they accept me since i do meet other EOP requirements?

well i applied to the EOP program in both school and i met the requirements financially but they said my grades were too high for the program, i got accepted to stony brook but i got denied to binghamton (grades were too high for EOP yet too low for regular acceptance) i really wanted to go to binghamton but once i started checking stony brook out, i got excited and i will be attending there in the fall, my SAT score was 1680 btw

When you said your “grades” were too high for EOP but too low for regular acceptance , what do you mean? Like GPA?

Well basically they said my gpa and/or SAT scores were too high for EOP and I knew I wouldn’t get into binghamton with my regular gpa and that is what happened. There is a form I got from my guidance counselor and it said that my grades needed to be between a range and a was above that range which is why EOP rejected me

Oh. do you know if i have a chance to make it into stonybrook EOP or regular admission with a critical reading score of 430, math of 670 and writing of 560 and GPA is like 92 out of 95?

You should be able to make it through regular admission but your critical reading is low and they tend to look at math and critical reason, if I were you I would take the SAT again just to safe, but your GPA is too high for EOP

Oh damn. so there’s no way for me to get into EOP or any of those programs? I don’t think i’m going to retake the SAT again. but i think i’ll do ACT…

They usually take the higher of the 2 and if you did EOP then you would have had to go there for a month and take classes, I think you have a solid chance of getting in, go on ■■■■■■■■■■ and they give your chances of being admitted

Yeah i don’t mind taking summer classes for a month and i think the EOP would be benefical for me too. I took the SAT 2 times already lol. on ■■■■■■■■■■, it says i’m like 67% percent chance of getting in but that’s still a maybe.

Well apply for EOP anyways and see what they say

Oh okay. Thanks.
