I received an email from Cornell saying that while reviewing my application, I was identified as an applicant that may be eligible for EOP. Does this mean I can’t get in by regular standards? My family income is below the cut off point, but I thought I had a chance with my grades and extracurriculars. First, should I reply back to the email at all to acknowledge that I received it? If I ignore the email and do not apply, will it seem as if I am uninterested in Cornell? Lastly, is EOP binding? Thank you in advance.
I don’t think it makes you seem uninterested in Cornell but in a way it is binding because you can’t just do EOP one year and leave the next. It’s up to you if you would like to respond, it certainly won’t hurt to respond. I think if they review you under EOP standards and see if your SATs and grades are actually high then they put you in regular admissions but I’m not entirely sure. I wouldn’t know if this means you couldn’t get in through regular means.
could you mind sharing your stats?
