Hey, anyone heard of this summer school? If so, how was it? Do you recommend this?

thanks

My daughter has taken several epgy math classes online. I think the classes are held at Stanford- but I might be mistaken. My dd hasn’t taken a summer class there; however, I wouldn’t hesitate to send her if the time was right.

Yeah according to website it is indeed in the summer campus, if you’re going to do math I’d recommend other better places than EPGY, if it’s anything else I really can’t comment.

The physics course online is superb!! Idk about the actual place…but it’s mad expensive, and expensive programs tend to attract less of the smart kids that are simply financially strapped.

The summer camps are somewhat different from the online courses - and for some the experience of being with other very bright kids is important. The courses are pretty sound, for what I have heard. It is expensive, but there are some scholarships. I believe it is rather like CTY which is a great experience.
Age matters - some older kids may not enjoy it as much.

I did epgy for 2 summers (i also did cty for 3, 2 of which were at stanford). I liked epgy because of the freedom. The academics were good but not amazing. I though of it more of a really fun camp where you learn with a lot of other great students. I am still in touch constantly with friends from 3 summers ago. All the ones in college are at select schools and the rest of us hope to join them.

How’s the workload and course information?
I’m probably not going to take anything math related, just to throw that out there.

thanks for everyone who has responded so far.

I almost never had work outside of class time since we had an afternoon work session where the counselors who were majoring in our subject helped us with work assigned by the teacher during the morning class.

My friend said he tried it and didn’t really like it alot. I mean it was okay and all, but he sounded iffy on it.
