Can someone explain how the ERC fine arts requirement works? Can I take a fine arts course my first quarter in freshmen year?

We need to take 2 fine arts courses. One western and one non-western. You can the fall quarter if you want.

Do any of them have to be upper division?

^no 10 char

What’s an easy fine arts class then? You know, to use as a schedule filler that creates time for the harder classes’ work…
It seems like they done away with the Beatles class to my great disappointment. =(

I also took Music 13 - it’s non-western music, focuses on a specific area of the world depending on what quarter you take it. Pretty easy.

@leukybear

They may very possibly still have the Beatles class in the winter or spring.

Good recommendations but both are not offered at the moment… =/
I guess I’ll tackle foreign language then to get it over with.

Any other GE fine arts easy classes worth mentioning?

ADD to previous post^

Just to clarify, I have to pass 4 semesters of a foreign language to fulfill the GE requirement?

^Four quarters, yes.

If you take the language placement exam and place into 1D (the fourth level) then you take that one class and then you’ll be done with the requirement.

Cool; so I presume that if I start at 1B (literally); I’ll be finished at 1D?

Right, so that means you’ll have to take 1B, 1C, and 1D

what are some easy GE’s to take?

Thanks ucsandiego915! You’re awesome!

Art/ music would be a good place to look. But most of those classes aren’t available in the 1st semester. Just tackle them later on in the year when they open up.
