Error Re: Family Size On UC Application

Hey y’all. So I have pulled myself into a confusing loop.

I initially put my family size from 5 (last year) to 4 (this year) because my eldest brother is now considered independent. For some false belief I had, I thought I made a mistake on the age you had to be to be considered independent and thus included it in the TAU that I meant to keep my family size as 5.
Now, I am back to the realization that he is considered independent, making my family size 4. But the TAU is now closed.

I was wondering if this was something to be concerned about? I’m not too worried about this, especially because the official documentation from FAFSA shows the family size as 4 and they would probably check that as confirmation rather than only looking at the UC App info. But I wanted to put this up asking if anyone thinks I should email any of the schools regarding this issue even though decisions will be released very soon?

Please and thank you in advance!

I believe they will simply adjust the amount, if needed.

You can update your fafsa at anytime, and that’s what really determines your financial aid. If/ when you’re accepted, just make any needed changes, and your aid will get adjusted accordingly.

@2016Candles you meant school financial aid package or fafsa app?

You can update FAFSA anytine. Your school gets notified of any changes made, and then the school, will adjust your package if necessary.
