Hi guys I just have a couple questions regarding the online UC apps.

In the About You section of the application where the app asks you about the total household number in your family- well just recently my grandparents came to the U.S to stay with my family for a couple of months, similiar to a family visit/vacation. So my questions is that should I include them as part of our household family size for this year(2011)?
Because during their stay they WILL be dependent on us to provide shelter and food & other personal necessities for them.

Another question is that if one's parent is currently going through a divorce and is waiting for the final legalized documents to be issued, what should be put into the estimated household income for this year in 2011? Assuming that one parent will pay the other parent child support throughout the college years. and if so what should one put for the question asking if the family is headed by a single parent or not?

And last but not least, should one send an SAT or ACT test report to every UC he or she is applying to or sending one is enough? (because other UC campuses can "share" a single report?)

Sorry about the amount of questions! I am just freaking out because I can't seem to be able to find the answers on other threads. I would appreciate all your feedbacks.

I’m not sure about the first few, but yes, you can just send it to one UC and it will go to all of them. Good Luck :)

thanks for the reply. But can you elaborate a bit on how the system works? For example is there a specif tool I have to use on the UC website or sending a single score will automatically make it available to all the other ucs? thanks again for the response.

Thanks for the clarification. Now I don’t have to waste extra money for multiple score reports haha.
But can anybody answer some of my previous questions? Because I haven’t been able to find the answers on many of the other threads that I looked through.

Come on people any help is greatly appreciated

First question, no, I don’t think you can count your visiting grandparents into the household number.

^ thanks for the reply. But are you sure that they shouldn’t be counted into the household even though they will be here a couple of months and that they will be financially dependent on us during their stay? I tried calling the UC’s admission offices but apparently they are on holiday break. I just want to be certain of what to put to avoid any problems that I might run into along the way…

^I think the household number is the same from your parent’s tax returns. I maybe wrong, but I remember I read this household number info somewhere. You can also ask your GC. He/she should know the answer.

The household number can only include the people who are claimed on the tax returns. So even a long-term visitor , grandparents too, cannot be included, unless they are now going to live permanently in your household.

Your second question is also answered in the tax return. It sounds as if the actual divorce is not complete, and therefore the income for 2011 will likely be similar to the 2010 one. Good question for your accountant, or whoever does your family tax return.

Thank you guys for the reply! things get very confusing when there’s so much going on.
