I am applying for both the Ervin and Rodriqguez scholarship programs, and the prompts seem extremely similar for the essays. I was wondering if the same committee evaluates applicants for both, since I could easily adapt an essay from one application to another, but they would be almost identical. Would they hold this against me?

was wonderin the same thing

The two committees are different. Still though, they're not isolated from each other. There's a pretty good chance that word will get around that you have the same essays, even though the prompts are so similar. I'd say you should take the time and show that you really care about both programs.

would it be okay if the first half is identical, but the second half elaborates on the specific scholarship?

hey, don't quote me here, i'm just giving my opinion. I had considered applying to both, but was planning on talking about different activities in each.
