So I’m checking my fin aid status for OSU and it says that my estimated cost of attendance is 27159. Is this a mistake?? I am an Ohio resident

Yep- That’s the estimated cost of attendance. However, it does not reflect any financial aid that you might get.

How is that the estimated cost of attendance?`I also see that number in my FA award. Looking at last year’s cost - tuition is $9399, room and board is $10164. That is all that you pay the university, but they also include misc. personal at $4716, but isn’t that an “optional” cost - a student could definitely cut back on those expenses. They also estimate books and supplies to cost 1500. Their total cost is 25833 for an instate student, but I think you only pay OSU tuition and room and board, so actual costs start at around 20,000, and OSU estimates living expenses and books to be about 5000. I guess they’ll increase their estimated cost of attendance this year about 1500. Whether that’s a tuition hike or a new estimation of books and personal expenses, I don’t know.

$40,348 is my estimates out of state cost.
