Essay about a subject that is not your prospective major?

I have two apps due tonight (AHHH) and I just finished my common app essay about how I've come to love science classes after hating them my whole life (obviously not as harsh-sounding as that). I did this mainly because my grades in science have been not-so-stellar until last year, when I finally found a passion for the discipline. However, I do plan to major in the social sciences.

Will my essay be a waste of space if it's about a subject that I don't want to major in? It is going to liberal arts schools with a core cirriculum, though...

Im interested in this too..

It's fine. If it's interesting to you, go for it. There's a good chance your "intended major" won't be your major in another year or two, anyway.

plus, a good essay is much more important than one that is directed towards ur major. ur much better of keeping this one than trying to think of a new one related to ur major (what if there isn't one that is quite as good?)
