Essay about transition to a new school?

I feel like this is cliche, but the amount of effort I needed to make as a result of this transition seems to justify it as a topic to write about. Here’s a summary.

In eighth grade, I decided that I would attend a different high school (still public) because of the poor academic standing at the one from my hometown. Though I was one of the top students in my class at my original school, I found that I could only be described as average coming into my new school as I was placed in classes that were much to easy for me. I began my freshman year taking all CP classes except for one class instead of the Honors level courses I should have been taking. However, as the years went on, I gradually moved up in more and more classes. In order to do this, I had to take two summer courses and seek the help of many of my teachers to learn material that was left out of the CP alternative. Now, as a senior, I will take 4 AP courses and 1 Honors. yada yada yada

I’m sure this is a frequent topic because kids will go to private high schools after public middle school but I wasn’t sure if my situation made it any different. Thoughts?
