<p>So...I'm finishing up the diversity question and I realize I hit 350 words (front of a page) </p>

<p>what do you guys think is the most we can exceed the 250 word reccomended number?</p>

<p>I'd say keep it to 3/4th of a page, should be allright.</p>

<p>The essay/short answer questions are the same as last year's? I thought this year's application hasn't been posted yet. Are you sure they'll be pretty much the same?</p>

<p>Only 2007 applications are currently up -- you're going to want 2008.</p>

<p>Apparently, the essay prompts for this upcoming admissions season are indeed available. The application, however, won't be posted until mid-August.</p>

<p>so how about around 320? it's around 3 lines short of a full page...i know this is very subjective, but do you think that's too long?</p>

<p>I wouldn't sweat the small stuff. These essays are only critical if you're a borderline student.</p>

<p>They're not gonna toss your application if you go over by 70 words. My main essay for last year was 760 words (500 recommended) and I didn't have any problems.</p>

<p>Yeah 320's good. If you don't want it to look as if you've used an entire page , try reducing the font , widening the margins, things like that.</p>

<p>When I wrote my essays, I gave myself a 10% margin. I think at the end I was around like 290~ words. 320 isn't that much more, I think it should be fine.</p>

<p>Is it cool to double space your essay? I figure it'll make it look neater.</p>
