Essay Due Date

'Mail this form to the Office of Admissions, Phillips Exeter Academy, by January 15, 2013.'

Does this mean my essays need to be postmarked by then, or arrive by then? Also, can/should I scan them and attach it somewhere, fax them, or do it via snail mail?

Thanks!

DS was an int’l applicant. He scanned and emailed EVERYTHING from overseas to all the schools he applied to.

Call and check w each school individually to ascertain the scan/email is OK w them.

For Exeter, I think they have to arrive by Jan 15.

I called the AO at Exeter to ask the same & was told that we could actually submit the student & parent essays VIA email as long as they are received by 1/15 & are sent as pdf attachments to an email. Since we live on the other coast, not having to worry about unreliable mail service throwing a monkey wrench into this whole application process is a HUGE relief! We plan to send everything early on the 15th so we have time to confirm w/ their office that they actually received it.

Also, asked if the school report (filled out by ds’s advisor or principal) could be sent the same way. The answer was YES.
But…
Make sure they fill out the pdf forms then scan them into their computer & send to the Exeter AO from THEIR OFFICIAL SCHOOL EMAIL ADDRESS. Otherwise, Exeter said it won’t be deemed official.
I believe the email you’ll need to send all this to is:
admit@exeter.edu
but doublecheck their admissions website to be sure. Hope this helps and best of luck finishing everything!

Thanks! This really helped me save a lot of trouble. :-)

You’re very welcome. Happy to help. Best of luck with your applications!
