<p>umm... i'm pretty sure that the nyu app has one large essay (500 words) and four short answers just like the common app does (the 250 word minimum one and the supplement).</p>

<p>The essay is most definitely on the common app. It's not part of a supplement, it's on the left under "Writing Samples."</p>
<p>the essay on the common app is the same essay that you send to all your common app schools. so either way, you have to either do the nyu app with the 500 word essay, and the additional four short answers, or you do the common app with the "common" essay and the nyu supplement with the four short answers. (the questions for the nyu and common app large essays are generally the same)</p>
