Essay Help

Since I am not the most creative person, is it alright to choose a simple question for the second U of Chicago Essay? I was thinking about just asking something along the lines of "What do you want to major in and why?" Please help. Thanks

Honestly, I don’t think the prompt matters. If you feel that you can convey WHO YOU ARE in that essay effectively, I say go for it. Because that’s what essays are for- telling adcoms who you are and where your passions lie.
And don’t worry about sending a more “straight-forward” essay. I’m sure a more direct approach will be welcome after so many applicants send in wacky answers. (like mine XD). There are plenty of ways to engage your audience even if your essay isn’t super philosophical, deep, or strange.

I would caution against such a simple question b/c it would look like you were just trying to copy-and-paste an essay you wrote for another school. If you can avoid this, then go ahead.
