essay length question

umm...well call me kind of OCD but I exacted all my essays to 250 and 500. just because.

so the question still remains.. is being 100 words over too much?? i've heard some people say it really doesnt matter, but other people say that if you exceed it by too much, it's like youre failing to obey their rules.
and regarding the "counting all the words" thing, it wouldnt be that hard for them if they really wanted to. all they'd have to do is copy and paste the essay into microsoft word and choose the word count option. i have no idea if any of them would bother, i'm just a bit paranoid..

100 is probably fine for the 500 word essay, but probably too much for the 250 ones. Even still, try cutting 600 words down to 550 or so. Be as concise as possible.

My essays were 416 (gahh! My interests essay - I seriously could not cut it), 304, and 541 words, respectively.

I figure that if they have enough time to c/p the essay into microsoft word and use the word count option they have enough time to read it :D

Anyway, it's not actually a "rule", per se, it was simply a recommended length. Nowhere did they actually say that the essay HAS to be 250, it just said "approx. 250 words."

:) Watch me get rejected because of this... :P
