My academic experience essay is almost 800 words. Do you guys know if that’s o.k.?

I don't think that's OK. You should reduce your words into 500.

You 'd better edit your essay.

It says 500 words or under, why would 800 be ok?

Mine was 675 after I'd cut and cut and cut it. But it was a lot of short words. Probably a useful rule of thumb is to not exceed 1.25 pages single spaced.

An even better rule of thumb is not to exceed one page.

Brown accepts students whose essays go over the word limit. But unless your long essay is truly compelling you are taking a risk by disobeying the rules.

I thought I was being really concise, and then I checked the length at the end at it was 650 words. No idea how I'm gonna cut it down...

haha I got my academic areas of interest/why brown essay to be exactly 1600 characters.
