You are a sad, sad little elitist.

Ok..I had to bring this topic up again...I did make some changes in my essay...I rewrote the endings foucsing on how hunting influnced me to maintain my enviroment and talked about all of the things I do with raising animals...instead of just hunting is not wrong which is what it was before.

However I just found out that I got into Notre Dame and Georgetown with my old essay...so I figure that is a good sign, I know they are not quite the same level as Princeton, but they are def. not the type of schools that accept someone IN SPITE of the their essays

So do yall think this is a good sign?

hopefully u won't get a guy reading your essay who's absolutely strongly against hunting and for animals rights

Congrats on getting in to two great schools! Maybe you should trust your instincts. ; )

And my sophomore is a bleeding-heart liberal, a gentle soul. But he loves hunting and is going with my father on Saturday. I grew up helping to train our bird dogs and, while I didn't enjoy shooting myself, I totally understand what you mean about being a part of nature. I loved watching my dad and the dogs work together.

With 15,000(?) essays to read, I doubt more than 10 will be on hunting. Out of these, five will rise to the top for consideration with other materials and hopefully yours will be one of them. In case you are not aware, people in NJ hunt deer. Plus we have one of the fastest growing black bear populations around. Due to the density of the state and housing developments going up, the anti-gun, liberal majority are starting to thank the hunters for keeping them safe. Don't tone it down too much - just don't say you want to be the founder of a hunting club at Princeton.

I already submitted it. I did change it and maybe "toned it down" but i think it is much better. Before it ended with saying that I learned hunting is not wrong and allows be to connect with nature. However, after more thought I realized that that is kinda weak..so I talked about how hunting has given me a responsibility toward by environment which is greater than just hunting and includes raising native birds, planting trees, and habitat restoration. So it is still about hunting but now also on what hunting has done for me.

What do you hunt? Deer? How big?

I hunt lots of stuff, but my essay is on geese...but I have to say that yesterday I found an albino doe in my woods...which I am pretty excited about...but I don't think I could ever hunt it...it is way too cool.

Cool...One time I saw an albino goose (but I only hunt deer). ;)
