Essay Plagarism

I wrote an essay and I am about to send it to a school. I emailed it to my friend and said he could use it as a baseline or a way to start his because we were writing about similar prompts. However, he ended up sending in his essay with about 8 sentences taken from my essay and put into his because he misunderstood why I sent it to him. We are both applying to schools via common app but we are not applying to any of the same schools. My question is if colleges would know that parts of my essay are in his essay if I submit mine using common app as well? please respond asap, thank you!

Also, I don’t know if it matter but my essay is a supplement while his is his general essay.

Bump! In urgent need of help deadline is soon!

I would say go tell your friend to write his own essay. It’s never good to have similar stuff - especially when you are applying to same schools. You need to know that no matter which essay he copied your sentences, admission ppl will look at both of your essays regardless of the category.
I feel like you are used a bit. Not to be mean but it seriously is not goof for both of you because both who copies and who gives answers to the person who copies will be punished for cheating on tests right? Plagarism on essays too.

Uh uh. Not good. It’s fine to help a friend by letting him read your essay and get some motivation to start his, but no way is it okay that he copied from you. 8 sentences is a lot for a 500 word essay. You have to be firm about this.
