All throughout high school, I've struggled with writing, and was wondering if this 'failure' to write would be a decent topic to write about for the 2nd prompt? It's never been the end product that's hard, it's always been about starting and getting to the end product (hence my struggles here). Also, would it pay to make a reference to writing about failing to write within the essay to the admissions officer reading it?

If you are sufficiently clever to pull off the college essay reference, sure, if not, just write about the topic normally, but don’t try to pull some cheesy stuff about the capps.

Alright, not sure what would be considered cheesy or clever with this, but still, would this idea work with the prompt? I mean, it’s not exactly one instance, more like a reoccurring struggle for the past 6 years.

I think this would be a decent topic for you to use since writing has been a struggle for you. You can talk about how you have overcome this struggle or any lessons you learned from it, this all sounds cliche but if you can be clever about it to write it in a way that is different - the reader will be in for a fun and intelligent ride!

You can show you overcame it by writing a brilliant essay about it! But – it’d better be good!

So it is a good topic then? Great! Though I still don’t know how I could I could possibly make it ‘unique’ or ‘clever.’ (Still have troubles getting started…)

Here’s an idea to let you get you started:

The blank page beckons me as if daring me to fill the vast white emptiness. With shaking fingers, I pick up my pencil. Nothing comes to mind and I rack my brain for anything to get rid of the empty void. blah blah blah. (this is usually how I feel whenever I start an essay. Starting is always hard for me).
