Please describe which activity has had the most meaning for you.

As the president of the cultural youth group, I am responsible for organizing projects aimed to aid the community and increase its awareness of the Indian culture. From organizing dances for the Duthcess Diwali festival to Polio walk-a-thons, the work required is time consuming. The results, however, are rewarding and teach me important lessons. I have learned that hard work by itself cannot accomplish much, rather, delegation along with effective leadership leads to success. Also, I’ve learned to communicate effectively and unite the cliques within my group. Throughout my leadership, I continue to develop important contacts within the community and interact with local organizations. I’ve learned lessons that I could never have grasped by solely taking a class. Cultural Youth Group is truly my most meaningful commitment not only for the lessons I’ve learned, but also because it allows me to increase the local community’s awareness of my culture.

By this point in your academic career, you have taken a variety of courses, each with its own distinguishing characteristics. Which one has been the most interesting, and what made it so?

During the summer after my freshman year in high school, I took Physics at a local college. So far, this class has been the most interesting in my academic career because of its several unique characteristics. The knowledge I gained was absolutely tremendous and the experience was like no other.
Being the youngest student in class, I felt out of place for the first few days of the course. Everyone, except me was a college student and It took some time getting used to the course, but soon I started to enjoy it. The professor, unlike my high school teachers, taught at his own pace and it was my responsibility to make sure I understood the material. There was help available outside of class, but I utilized this time to learn beyond the materials taught in the course from my professor, who was a researcher in Physics. He explained some of his research to me over the semester, giving me an insight into how the basic principles and theories of Physics are applied to practical application.
A factor, beyond the academic aspect, that made the course interesting was the new college environment. I began to see and understand the difference between high school and college and learned to be more responsible, which greatly helped me courses at high school. Meanwhile, I also made several college friends who guided me to the right path from their own experiences and showed me the college life that I will soon encounter.
Physics at Dutchess Community College was truly the most interesting course in my academic career up to this point. I hope to utilize the skills and knowledge acquired through this course to help me succeed during my years at (University).

MIT
Some words could be eliminated, eg 'so far' and 'experience like no other'. Better to say, "I enjoyed talking the prof after class about his research." I don't think the excess words are useful.
I wish you would describe unique characteristics. How was prof diff. from HS teachers? How was the environment diff? I'm sure you know what you mean, but it doesn't come across to me. Examples would help. I know its hard, but try to describe your insights.
