Essay question: program-specific or general?

Hi, I will be applying to UPenn DMD (digital media design) program RD, and I was looking at the essay prompt for a while:

The Admissions Committee would like to learn why you are a good fit for your undergraduate school choice (College of Arts and Sciences, School of Nursing, The Wharton School, or Penn Engineering). Please tell us about specific academic, service, and/or research opportunities at the University of Pennsylvania that resonate with your background, interests, and goals.

The prompt asks me to write about my "school choice", but if I'm applying to an interdisciplinary program should I write about the program I'm applying for? Or do I have to choose a specific school--because I've heard, if I don't get into the program I'm automatically considered as a single-school student?

I believe every program has a “Main” college. Not totally sure. If that’s the case, I would write about that. It might be worth your while to throw in the other college as well.

I suppose you should ensure the bulk of your essay is on the college you hope to get into if you are not accepted into the dual-degree programme

I don’t think so … Huntsman and M&T do not unless I am mistaken

There’s a different essay for the dual degree programs. You are supposed to concentrate on your main college, which would be CAS I think, for this essay

As far as I know there is no additional essay for the DMD program, just a portfolio to be submitted. Does anyone know?

Digital media design is in engineering … it may be interdisciplinary, but I don’t think it is multi-school like Huntsman and M&T.
