Question about Dual Program

If I get deferred/rejected from first choice (one of the dual programs), is the chance of getting into the second choice the same as other applicants? For instance, if I picked SEAS as the secondary option, would my chance of getting into SEAS be same as someone who just applied to SEAS? Or would they accept applicants who applied only to SEAS first then accept applicants who applied to SEAS as second choice if there is a spot left?

According to what they say online, your second choice school doesn’t know that you have applied to a dual degree program (unless you mention it). So according to Penn, you have the same chance as someone who only applied SEAS.
@Wharton2020‌ Thank you! I’m deciding between applying Fisher Program and Digital Media Design.
I believe DMD is not a dual degree program, but I can choose to have a second choice.
Is that mean the admission process for my second choice will be like applying to CDD and a second choice?

Also, I heard that I should write about my single degree choice for supplement essay if I’m applying to CDD. What should I write about if I’m applying to DMD and another single degree choice?

@Aguileon‌ if you have two essays to write for UPenn then write about DMD for one and your single choice for the other. If you have only one essay I would write a bit about DMD and your single choice.

@Wharton2020‌ I want to write two essays if I can, but I do not know where to find out

@Aguileon‌ when you fill out the common app. It asks you what program you want to apply too. Select DMD and then choose your second choice. After you fill out the academics portion, check the supplement questions. If there are 2 then you can write 2, but if there’s one then you only get to write one

There is only 1 supplement question, just in case someone wants to apply DMD like I do
