I'm applying to CIT and i want to do an additional major in biomedical engineering, my true passion. Although my prospective major is undecided (between ECE and mechanical), I defintely want to do biomedical engineering as an additional major. In my essay, my first two paragraphs focus on how i got interested in engineering and my last paragraph focuses on what I want to do at CMU. Is it ok if, in my last paragraph, I mention my possible prospective major but focus on biomedical engineering? Will this send the wrong message to adcoms that Im not as interested in my "other" major (aka mechanical or ECE)?

I think it is defiantly ok...because that is what I wrote about. I was accepted to ECE ED and wrote my essay about my interest in biomedical engineering and how I wanted to pursue it as a double major with ECE.

Yes, focus on your strength and passion, but do mention your other majors.

It seems like everybody these days is going into biomedical engineering.

At the reception for National Merit Semifinalists at my school, they had us state our intended majors. There were 15 biomedical engineering students, 2 law students, and one CS student (me).
