Essay redundancy? URGENT HELP PLEASE!

Would it be redundant or detrimental in some way to write two prompts both based on the same subject?

I am very pleased with a common application essay I wrote about my passion for nature and the sciences and how they evolved throughout my life. For the Cornell essay, the prompt is "Describe your intellectual interests, their evolution, and what makes them exciting to you. Tell us how you will utilize the academic programs in the College of Arts and Sciences to further explore your interests, intended major, or field of study."

The first part of the prompt encompasses my common application essay, but the rest is something entirely new. I really want to use my nature essay for the common application, but I dont want overlaps... suggestions?

Thanks.

bump... anyone?

Depends. Is the Cornell a supplement or it's own application? If it's a supplement for the common app then you better not give basically the same essay twice, because the whole point of the supplement is giving you another place to express yourself and to show another side of you. If it's Cornell's own application, then they'll never know what you wrote for the common app and it's fine.
