Hi! I'm planning to apply to the University of Rochester, but I need really good essays to make my application stronger. If anyone is willing to read my Common App essays and the Rochester (the supplement and REMS) essays, I'd really appreciate it!
Also, for a REMS essay, what exactly do they mean by your "qualifications" for the REMS Program? Are you supposed to write about the experience you have in the medical field?
Thank you!

Hi, LiveLaughLove5… Though I am not able to read and comment on your essay, for obvious reasons, and can speak to the REMS application. The primary goal is to assess the extent to which you are making an informed and educated decision to enter an eight year medical program. Given the length of the commitment, we prefer to admit students that have demonstrated interest in medicine, so your qualifications are referring to experiences you have had in medicine, both academic and non-academic. That might include advanced courses you have taken, volunteer work, shadow experiences, research you have done, etc.

Thanks for your help.

for the essay about qualifications, would it be okay if i elaborated on only one of my medically related activities? my application already lists the activities i have participated in related to medicine and i don’t just want to redundantly list all of them in prose form. any suggestions?

I think choosing one or two of the most insightful experiences you have had to elaborate on is wise. You may want to make brief mention of the fact that you have additional experience and that you would simply like comment most specifically on one or two.
