Hey. I just finished my REMS essays. However, they turned out to be pretty long. 3 pages single spaced, and 5 double spaced. Should I try to cut it down, or just leave it? Thanks!

can u send me the link to the 7-8 med degree app for university of rochestor

Guju geek: so you definitely went over the little boxes they have for each question then?

I myself have been working on the U of R supplement and have been wondering about whether to go over the alotted space. I mean, it says you can...but how much over I don't know.

I don't think you're supposed to go too much over the limit of the boxes, so I suggest you shorten your anwers- by a lot.

Can the REMS supplement be done online or does it have to be mailed?

I am using the Common Application and mailing the REMS supplement.

Same question as jerzgrlmom... I would prefer to do it online, do I HAVE to mail it?

and when is the deadline?

yeah, it's wierd..from what I can tell you can only do the REMS sup. on paper.

Which, like I said, is wierd because so much of the application process is web-based: I asked for an interview online, did the common app and supplement online, did the part one thingy online, and can check the status of my app online. WAY better than most colleges' websites

Billybobbyk, if you fill out the Common App and URoch Supplement and REMS Supplement, do you still have to fill out that part 1 form?

i believe so tarpi, I did the part 1 form before the common app and supplement though.

now I have to write my answers in by hand on the REMS supplement. BAH. my responses are gonna be like 20 words, max.

I suppose I'll ask guidance to send my stuff to rochester so I dont have to :)

it says you must complete part 1 and 2 online OR the common app...

but that doesnt include the REMS supplement...u have to mail that...

yea the REMS supplement has to be mailed in. postmarked... friday :X.

my answers were very short, and they fit in the box (hand-written, my handwriting is pretty big)

ya, my answers were very short also and fit in the box and were hand-written.......I hope that what I wrote was enough...

I tried to be all tricky by printing the form then typing my mini-essays and printing them into the boxes on the form by putting it back into the printer---and I did this because I didn't want them to see my atrocious handwriting (well, it can be good, if I write really SLOWLY).

Like I said earlier, I'm surprised they didn't have the supplement online, or at least a PDF that we could type into.

hmm was i the only one that taped what could fit in the boxes after i printed it out and then just put the rest on a separate sheet? i copied it to make it look all nice.

i wouldn't tape anything....

billybobbyk, that's not a bad idea. however, I do believe there WAS a reason they didn't have it online/typeable PDF (because the info at the top was typeable, but the essays themselves weren't). perhaps they wanted some of your hand-written thoughts instead of computer generated. idk.

I printed it out separately, stuck it within the little boxes, photocopied it so it would be flat, and sent in the copy- - - it was kind of ugly, with the photocopy-lines, but there was nothing I could do:(

no i taped it then copied it...so that it looked like i hadnt done anything but print it out. i was being lazy with my pdf editing skillz (i spent like, 2 hrs editing my umiami app bc i tried typing in the pdf)

I Photoshopped my typed text into the form.
