ESSAY TOPIC A.. question

Do you think I can write about someone who I haven't met.. but someone who still had an impact on me?

here's the question:

Write an essay in which you tell us about someone who has made an impact on your life and explain how and why this person is important to you.

i did...an athelete

Yes you can.

You haven't finished your application yet? :o

But yes, I wrote about my favorite philosopher!
good luck!! :)

I did, except I just made it all up. These essay topics expect 17 and 18 year old kids to reflect on profound life experience that most of us don't have... kind of idiotic.

haha. Yea, i actually worked hard on my UT essay...the sad thing is that I basically made up everything for my Columbia essay (which I turned in on the due date, January 1). But of course, this is after I've already gotten into UT and have developed a very serious case of senioritis. So much for NYC...hook em! :)

Yeah, once I got my ACT scores, I felt like it was going to be a sure thing, so my friend offered to proof read mine, which turned out to end up being a rewrite of an essay written in 2 hours. I felt bad about making her do all the work, but Engineers aren't supposed to be able to write. Give me a math/logic problem instead of an essay; determining an engineer applicants aptitude for English has no bearing on how well he can do math/physics as far as I'm concerned.

I'm planning on sending in everything this week. I mean, I've procrastinated on everything in high school...college apps are no exception!

But foxshox, haven't you heard? Its no longer about what you want to learn in school! You have to be able to do it all! You have to be well-rounded--a "super-student", if you will. haha.

And nicely done LFC8! Yay for procrastinating! Now you just have to sumbit the application, apply for housing, pay your fee, fill out the FAFSA, apply for financial aid, print your housing contract, sign it, send it in, pay your $300. Yay...you're almost done...sorta...

If this admissions process has taught me anything, its that academic achievement trumps all Extra Curricular activities. I am really hoping that will hold true come time for job applications, because I honestly do not care about Professional engineers society.

aschap91, I could do all that in a few hours, haha...no but really.

Meh, I just tried to get all of my college apps in before winter break, which I did, but now FinAid deadlines are creeping up on me, and I don't want to screw myself over there because I have no in-state safeties to fall back on for a full ride. >.<

haha yea disasterpiece, you might wanna get on that! :) I'm having my daddy fill mine out....

Yes, I'm milking this whole "Going to college, last few months together" thing for all it's worth. hahaha.

Yeah, I have officially set Saturday aside to do my FAFSA and all of my other FA apps, even though I can't yet for UT because I have to be accepted first..
