Hey,

It would be very helpful if you would give me some input on my admissions essay topics. I want to be unique, so they may be controversial, any help is appreciated.
Topics:

2. Starting my international nonprofit (chalenges/ successes)
3. Lessons I've learned from my nanny
4. How i channelled my argumentative and critical atitude into my passion for debating, which has improved my personal relationships and won me many awards
5. Spending a summer in spain on a spanish immersion program
6. Running for Headboy against 11 other candidates, and loosing after the school wide election results were to close and the decision went to the bureaucratic vice principal.( i could include my excellent speech)
7. Traveling to Kenya and questioning the consequences of westernizing africa

Thank you!

p.s

I have a passion for business. im focused on small liberal arts colleges (Williams, Colgate, Bowdoin)

First one sounds most interesting by far!

I would caution you that all of your topics scream “My parents are rich!” to one extent or another. While this is not an issue per se, it will likely raise the bar for your application in the eyes of the reader. They will assume that you have access to more resources and opportunities and will thus expect to find more impressive achievements in the application.

The first one seems interesting and also shows your commitment to business, which you want to study.

Thank you. Are you sure the first topic wouldn’t be offensive or negative (rule breaking)?
