Essay Topic

Hey guys!

What do most people write about on their essays? Yeah, I've heard about the "Significant Death in Family", "I Love Washington and Historical Figures", etc, but those seem a bit overdone. I initially planned a somewhat quirky essay about my career choice, but now I'm having second thoughts. I want my essay to also be about me, not just what I want to do... :</p>

Should I make it more about my personality or an extracurricular that I love? I have many stories that could work, but it's hard to pick something! Anything would be appreciated!

Thanks! :)

I’m in a similar position, but you need to choose what you feel best about. Just choose one and see how it turns out.

When in doubt, write about your favorite EC (i.e. the one about which you are most passionate and in which you are most involved). It brings that particular EC to life; suggests that the rest of your ECs aren’t just items on a list, either; and does an excellent job bringing out your personality and voice. Of course, that’s assuming it’s well-written ;).

Thanks! I think I’m going to outline both, and ask my guidance counselor about it. Good luck to you guys!
