I am really confused about what we are supposed to write about for the ec essay. I mean it says ~150 words, so I don't think I could effectively write a "how volunteering at a childrens hosptial changed my life" kind of essay...so is it more like a "on the high school basketball team I played guard. I liked being part of the team and learning cooperation skills" etc? It says to elaborate on your activity, can anyone give me a hint as to what you are thinking of writing and how you interpret "elaborate"? Please guys, I have like 5 different things started for this and each has a kind of different flavor and I am not sure which is appropriate for the prompt. :(

Do what you think is appropriate! I’d think that as long as you elaborate on your chosen activity then you should be fine. If you choose to tie in how it has impacted you or why you do it…then even better. =)

do you think it has to be like a school activity? I am really into creative writing and songwriting, but I wasn’t sure if they wanted more of a group activity. I mean I do quiz bowl and theater, but I can’t really think of anything to elaborate on about them that isn’t obvious. like I played macbeth in macbeth etc. Maybe I am just having some writers block or something

“Briefly elaborate on one of your extracurriculars or work experiences in the space below”
That means any activity you choose.
I chose to elaborate on my most important activity (very first one) and explained what I did why I did it, what I gained in the process. I can’t exactly tell you which activity to choose cause ultimately, whats important to you can only be determined by you. Hope that helped . . .

“what I did why I did it, what I gained in the process.” thanks that is what I was looking for, I have a few things that I could write about of course but that helps me figure out how to structure it. thanks so much :)

Yup, no problem.
