<p>I am a strong essay writer, and I was wondering if anybody knew of any scholarship contest based around essay or poem writing? </p>

<p>There’s the Courage to Grow scholarship, which requires a pretty simple essay. You’ve probably heard of the JFK essay contest- I can’t remember exactly what it’s called. <p>I’m on the lookout for essay scholarships as well, as essays are my strong point, so if I find any more I’ll let you know!</p>

<p>You might try the Signet Classics Essay Scholarship. I was one of the five winners for the 2012 contest, but the 2013 contest just opened. It is only worth $1000, but all you have to do is to read a classic (George Orwell’s 1984 for 2013) and write a very good essay on it. They give you five topics to choose from. Anyway, I had a lot of fun applying for it.</p>
