ECs:

Research for 2 summers and throughout my junior year. I intend to enter Siemens and Intel competitions, and am right now applying for a research scholarship (Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship, if anyone's interested), and am in the process of getting a publication for my work.
Also sticking my research abstract for supplementary materials in my college apps
I founded a volunteer organization for my school to go to the science museum, and have a group of about 10 volunteers go every Saturday.
I am the Chemistry chair of our school's Research Organization, and we help students find research opportunities.

Saxophone for 7 years. Won a bunch of stuff, principal player, etc. all-region, all state, UIL state "outstanding soloist award" (1% of those who enter this competition get this award), division 1 ratings for solos. I also entered the special program because the university has a very strong music program. My private lesson teacher that I auditioned for is the secretary of the International Saxophone Committee.
I've also been in the Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra, a highly competitive music organization, and have been a principal saxophonist as well as a guest soloist for their concerts.
I did marching band for 2 years and was a saxophone squad leader.
I am also taping a solo for my college supplements.

I will have over 300+ community service hours, from tutoring at a local elementary school, and a lot from being an assistant counselor at a leadership camp. I also plan to volunteer at a camp for the physically handicapped.

Leadership positions:

Chemistry Chair- Research Organization
Principal Saxophone- Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra
Committee head of museum volunteering
Saxophone squad leader- Marching Band

Organizations:

NHS 2004-2008
marching band 2006-2008

Greater Dallas Youth orchestra 2006-2008
Research Organization 2006-2008
Leadership Camp- 2007

My english teachers have told me that I definitely know how to write essays, so I don't think I'll screw those up very badly, and I believe that I can get good recs.

So can you tell me my chances for:

Yale (SCEA)
Princeton
Cal-Tech
Stanford
Duke
Washington University in St. Louis
Johns Hopkins
Rice U
University of Southern California (Double Legacy)
University of Texas Austin

I think the top 6 are probably reaches
Rice and USC match?
Austin safety?

Alright guys, thanks and good luck with your apps too!

Scores are amazing, as is GPA. Principal saxophone though? Orchestras don't contain saxophones normally, and when they do they are usually principal by default. Send in a tape of yourself if you're really extraordinary. USC is a definite match, as for the Ivies, they are naturally reaches for everyone, though you will probably get in at least one if you apply to several.

Ok, just to clarify, I'm the principal sax in the Wind Symphony, the "band" (2nd highest group of the organization) of the Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra. I've been called to guest solo for the Symphony Orchestra (highest group in the organization) because symphony orchestras do not have saxophones as a standard section (along with euphoniums)

um...bump?

You will be rejected at oh..3 of them.
Accepted at the rest. :)

Most of your schools are again reaches for anyone, but given the number you are applying to I think you have a great shot at a few acceptances. Nice stats!

very, very good chances at all those schools. My guess is that you will be accepted into atlest 2 or 3 of the ivies/stanford/caltech.

Yale (SCEA)- Likely (but still a reach)
Princeton- Likely (ditto)
Cal-Tech (ditto)
Stanford (ditto)
Duke likely
Washington University in St. Louis IN
Johns Hopkins VERY LIKELY/ IN
Rice U IN
University of Southern California (Double Legacy) LIKELY, BUT OOS.
University of Texas Austin IN/ SAFETY?

Thanks guys, any other opinions?

your stats are intimidating (read: amazing). I know it's too late to say this for yale SCEA, but the one thing that dangles between you and application perfection is emotional shape. It scares me that you would refer to the essay-writing process as some kind of formula! I'll give you the benefit of the doubt of being modest, but again, because your stats are so rock solid--and almost inhuman--don't be afraid to show very human flaws and feelings and a sense of NOT knowing everything yet in your essay. A college, however prestigious, still hopes to teach and change its students more than anything. Keep that in the back of your mind for the rest of your apps? Just my opinion.

I'm gonna assume you go to TAMS

No AP test scores?
Excellent SAT I & ACT scores, and excellent ECs
but I dont understand something

How can you already be doing science research and get a 790 in bio and 760 in chem? Maybe Yale might raise eyebrows for that, but your SATI scores still outweigh your errors.

Dunno... youll prob get in to all except Princeton, Yale, Stanford, Cal-Tech which everybody has similar chances (crapshoot). Cal-tech might reject you (unlikely) for your imperfect SATII scores.

Anyways, GL. YOu have nothing to worry about -_-, unlike most others

You are my favorite because coffee is in your essentials. Come to california and be my tutor! haha jk. I can only tell you my opinion on your cali chances. USC, very high chance. Stanford, you basically have to rock at life and produce the most amazing essay the world has ever known (haha and not write something stupid to your potential future roommate). Cal Tech, I dont know because they dont have my major... btw what is yours going to be? Oh I see, bio and pre med. Well you basically rock at life. Im sorry I could not be more help.
