EST Applicant still good for deadline?

Hi there,

I submitted my UChicago supplement + payment a little while ago and am really pleased with it. Just to definitively clear it up, I submitted as follows:

Application Downloaded: 12/31/2011
Supplements: 01/04/2012
Payments: 01/04/2012
School Forms Assigned: 12/05/2011

The exact time of my payment submission (which I did shortly after - within minutes - of submitting my supplement) was 1/4/2012 12:23:18 AM EST.

So given that UChicago's website says they accept apps 'till 11:59PM CST 01/03/2012, I should still be good, right? Sorry, if this seems silly but I want to be 100% sure.

Thanks for any replies! Best of luck with your apps (if applicable) :P

They’re not going to throw your application into the trash for being just a little bit late. Good luck!

Yeah, EST is one hour ahead of CST, so you technically submitted it on time.

Also, from Chicago’s official website:

"++ Technically, our application deadline is January 3rd at 11:59 CST. However, don’t stress out about the “time stamp” on your application. UChicago downloads forms from the Common Application and sometimes these downloads occur after the deadline. Regardless of this timestamp, your application will not be considered “late.”"

You’re good. U Chicago is really awesome for doing that and not being too strict.
