Establishing Contact

Alright so I sent in my transfer app and all that stuff in late January. Since then I've been feeling antsy and mildly paranoid simply because for two months now I've had no control over the process. For one of the schools, I think I have a fairly good chance but I'm worried I didn't show enough interest in the school in my app. (I definitely tried to, but I feel like since I'm transferring from a "better" school, they'll be looking for especially compelling reasons.) I think just making some sort of contact with the school would, if nothing else, relax me. What reason/excuse could I use for doing this? Would it be innapropriate to send in an extra essay?

Also, am I right in assuming that because I'm transferring from a pretty good school, they may see me as less worthy because I already have a decent situation (relative to Comm College kids)?

Thanks for the help.

Anyone?? What if I just called and asked if they'd read my application yet? Is that out of bounds?

I wouldn't do that. If anything, send them a brief letter of "update." However, I'd only do this is you have been doing interesting things lately or have interesting plans for the near future. They don't want to be annoyed with kids asking if their apps have been read yet...if you put together a strong app, just have faith and wait it out. Pestering will not work in your favor. but like I said, if you've been up to big things lately (ie between the time you sent your app and now) then send them a brief letter of update. Good luck.
