Hey, i apologize for the perhaps overly emphatic title. I am a prospective transfer, and a few weeks ago i got about 7 apps in to some pretty bluechip reachy places. I am optimistic, but i am far from a shoe in at any of these places and i am just curious if there are things i can do in this season of waiting to maybe advance my cause or ensure that i pop up on the radar screen now and again. Is calling to check the status of your app a waste of time or even obnoxious? Is there anything else one can/ought to do?
Thanks in advance, love to hear back.

Nothing personal, but that's probably because your sentences are obnoxiously complicated.

As for your question, you have a legitimate reason to call and inquire about your admissions decision if it is already past the planned decision release date. If you're afraid of being obnoxious, just explain to them this.

Since we're approaching the later phases of the decisions process, calling to market yourself probably won't make much of a difference. You never know though, i've asked questions before to show my willingness to attend the school, all while learning more about their program. I did it over a month ago though.

I don't think you need to call unless you have a legitimate concern that something may not have reached your file. I think all the good schools will contact you if anything is missing - it happens all the time and is sometimes their fault - so don't stress about that....

Now - Lots of waiting...and then decisions that are not remotely synchronized. Some come in March while others come in late May or early June (even when apps were complete in January!) ...a big difference when you're trying to make decisions. Good luck!
