I'm planning on establishing residency once I move to TX so I can buy guns, vote, etc. I understand this is accomplished by getting a TX vehicle registration/drivers license, correct? After I've established residency and lived in TX for a year, am I then eligible for resident tuition, or do you have to pay OOS tuition all four years?

It explains that residency for voting, drivers license, etc is different than residency for tuition purposes. You basically have to prove that you're not in a state primarily for the purpose of attending a state university and that usually means that you have to have lived in that state for at least a year before you start college.
