Hi, everyone! I sent in my ED application to Rice about a week ago, and (much to my excitement) I got my Esther login information two days ago. Under the 'requirements' section, I saw that my ED Agreement hadn't yet been submitted by my counselor. After I was done with my mini-heart attack, I emailed my counselor asking her about the form, and I emailed the admissions office at Rice explaining my situation as well. Now, today at school my counselor told me she submitted the form, but when I got home, I logged into Esther and under the requirements page, it says "No records found"...

So, is that normal, or should I be concerned? Yesterday, it listed everything (Common App, Supplement, all that stuff) with their respective statuses (received/not received), but now there's just nothing on there. I mean, I'm assuming that it's just a technological error and not that my e-mail to the admissions office was so stupid they just deleted my file or something, but I still am a little bit worried-especially since November 1st is slowly approaching.

Thanks so much for your help in advance! I appreciate it. :)

I’m in the exact same situation. Yesterday it showed the common app and scores had been received, but not the ED or Rice Supp. Today it says no records found but also says application under review. I’m sure they’re getting a ton of documents and hopefully it will all be updated Monday.

Okay, I feel a little bit better knowing that I’m not the only one. I’ll probably wait until Tuesday or so to see if it’s resolved, and if not, I may call the admissions office or shoot them an e-mail. Thanks, and best of luck to you, by the way!

I wouldn’t worry too much about it yet. Just because the deadline is almost here doesn’t mean admissions will be done processing applications then. But feel free to call them on Tuesday if you’re still concerned. They’re nice people!

Good luck!

Thanks, adamb! I wouldn’t be concerned, except for the fact that one day, all my records were on Esther, and the next day, they all vanished. If they had never had any records online in the first place, I probably wouldn’t worry, but it’s the fact that they were all online, then they weren’t that worries me a little. But, you’re right, it’s probably nothing. (I really don’t want to be “THAT ANNOYING KID”, so I try contacting them as sparingly as possible-I’m sure they’re swamped with work right about now…)

Any update here?

I just checked and I also have “No records found”

I e-mailed someone at the admissions office, and he pretty much said the processing center has a lot of documents coming in, so Esther will be updated as things get sorted out, I guess. I think the main thing is, it’s so many of us with the message that it’s not just any one applicant’s error-it’s a technological overload, I guess. (Which is a relief, because when I first saw that, I kind of freaked out. I thought I was the only one, and that I had my file nuked or something…) I’m sure things’ll be updated as soon as they’re able to process everything. Although, I will admittedly be very relieved when I see it confirmed on Esther that they do indeed have everything I submitted. Anyway, good luck to you! The wait begins…

Yep it’ll take awhile for the admissions office to process all your documents. Don’t stress; take note of this in the future for when/if you are submitting financial aid apps or apps to other colleges. If you are sure it has been submitted then the college probably just hasn’t processed it yet, so no need to have a panic attack. Good luck guys, hope to see you here next year. :)
