ethnic studies 21ac with SARAGOZA

Do you guys know whether or not prof. saragoza is a difficult professor for ethnic studies 21ac over the summer? For example, how long are his exams and his essays? how much time do i need to spend (eg. 4 hours per day) to receive an A for the class? this is of my concern because i will be taking math 54, and two other haas classes along with ethnic studies 21ac over this summer and i dun know if it is a good idea considering the opportunity that i can just drop es21ac, but i just want to get it over with. i also know that i will be assigned a research assignment ( i think i will be done with this quick because i have a paper written for another similar class already), and i hope that can give you guys an idea. thank you. any feedback is appreciated.

bumpppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp I’m taking this class over the summer. how was it?

I took that class last summer. He is a really interesting guy and his lectures are interesting. His tests are entirely on the reading - and there is a lot of reading… I ended up splitting the reading among a group of 5 people, we each read one article a week and wrote an outline for it- worked out great. This class ranks in the top 2 classes i’ve taken with the most reading. He assigns one of those huge $80 readers.

The tests are multiple choice and i found the reading boring and full of statistics and numbers. Also for the test you have an essay. He gives you 5 prompts a week before and and on the day of the test he tells you the prompt he wants an essay for. And the essay is due the next day. He grades harder on these essay because you have a week to think about them, but go to his OH and he will tell you exactly the answer he expects for each prompt.

You also have to write an essay on a movie - which was pretty easy

Overall, the class was easy because over half the students in it where high school students who had trouble writing the essays. If you have time to keep up with all the reading you will get an A…

thank you!
