Eureka! Why didn't I "discover" these products sooner?!

Try Method Daily Shower Cleaner on your pebble shower floor. This product keeps residue from forming. I live where we have hard water, and I have dark tile and a dark pebble floor.

^^Ooh, thanks Happy2help and txstella:

Good to know. I haven’t used vinegar yet, but was told it would work. I’ll try to find Method but the best products I have found for ‘stone only’ are really expensive. Txstella: Do you know what stores carry it? Is it reasonably priced? Thanks.

^^That egg cooker in the microwave sounds very tempting! Thanks, BB, for letting us know you’re happy with it…

They sell Method at Target.

^^Thanks, Thumper! We’ve got one of those!

@emilybee Those are great! I’ve seen them on QVC.

@lusomedove - The instructions say 8 min for 1000 watt MW for hard boiled eggs. I assume that it would also depend on the egg size… I think 8-9 min in your MW would work.

@BunsenBurner, so glad you like the cooker! We get the same skeptical reaction that your husband had when we pass them out to our friends. They quickly become believers after the first cook!

On vinegar for stone: Be Careful!

Vinegar is an acid, and will etch some natural stone. If you have limestone, travertine, or marble, for example, those are primarily calcium carbonate, and acids (vinegar, lemon juice, etc.) will react with them and etch the surface. Also, some stone is porous (for example, unsealed slate), so while vinegar may not etch the surface, you may be stuck with the vinegar smell for a while, even after rinsing it off. On the other hand, vinegar is safe for other stone such as granite, but beware because much of what people call granite is not truly granite. (Friends thought their new house had granite tiled bathrooms, but in fact the tiles were marble.)

Vinegar will not hurt some synthetics such as porcelain tiles. Other synthetics, such as those faux marble molded bathroom counter/sink combos, may be damaged by vinegar.

Bottom line, unless vinegar was recommended for cleaning your stone, or you have a geologist handy, don’t use vinegar on your stone!

Might or might not be a lower cost alternative, but have you tried a steam cleaner? I used it on my bathroom tile and grout and was amazed that it cleaned with hardly any scrubbing. I used some oxy bleach to make the process quicker, but I believe I could have gotten it just as clean without the chemicals.

^^Thanks Barfly. I think I’ll just stick to my expensive “for natural stone tile only” products. They do have a method for Granite cleaner, but it needs to be sealed. Better for me to just keep using what I’ve been using.

^^PoohNDisney: Steam cleaner sounds intriguing. I cannot use oxy bleach with it, but maybe some regular stone cleaner combined with a steam cleaner. I would do it once just for an all around good cleaning but it would be too expensive, I’m sure, to do it on a regular basis. Thanks!

My sister mentioned the car cane at the weekend. Happy to see a vote of approval.

Just used my new microwave egg boiler, wow! I was hesitant about over cooking them, so they were slightly underdone but peeled beautifully! Two thumbs up.

Having just wrenched my back into horrendous spasms this morning, attempting to put my ladybike onto my car’s bike rack, I wish I had discovered the Yakima top tube adaptor sooner, so I could have enjoyed a lovely ride this morning, instead of self-medicating tonight with advil and wine.

Garland, I hope you did not take your Advil and wine simultaneously. We need you alive here in CC!

Back to products… I really like these lunch and food storage containers:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000N3Z8HE/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?qid=1439858684&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SX200_QL40&keywords=rubbermaid+food+storage&dpPl=1&dpID=51w6YOpI9oL&ref=plSrch

The lids stay put (although I would not use them to carry soup on public transportation!) and the clear plastic sides do not get stained with tomatoes and other colorful veggies.

^^ I misread your post, @garland - I thought you said “tube top” and was trying to visualize what kind of wardrobe malfunction you must have had lifting that bike while wearing your tube top… :))

Where can I buy the microwave HB egg thing?

@BunsenBurner --former doc H says not to worry–it’s wine and acetaminophen that’s the risk!

Garland, it is the stomach lining, not the liver that can get damaged by advil-alcohol mix. I would not take many chances! Hope your back is back in action soon.

BB, so you take an Advil in AM, then drink at night?

@Madison85, Amazon carries the egg cooker.
