Eureka! Why didn't I "discover" these products sooner?!

Sure, a few wrinkles can be taken out with a water mist or by hanging the garment in a steamy shower (works best with knits, jersey, and wool fabrics). For travel, I pack clothes that need ironing on hangers in clingy plastic bags into a garment bag. This way, pretty much everything travels wrinkle-free. Hotel irons can be used as makeshift steamers to get rid of a few wrinkles that do creep in. Just set the iron to the hottest setting, hold it a couple of inches above the fabric, and push the extra steam button. Works every time.

So if you want a steamer, Jiffy is the go to brand of clothing stores. I have seen these at all sorts of stores, from Chicos to fancy boutiques.

While I’ve gotten rid of a lot of kitchen duplicates, the duplicate I love is a second pair of Oxo Good Grips tongs.
I love that we can use one pair for pulling out raw chicken from marinades to grill or broil, and then use the other pair when the food is cooked.

Thanks to this thread, I now have streak free windows and my parents are excited about their new car canes. Thank you everyone!

hrh19, your tomato huller reminded me of my Pampered Chef one that I’ve been using for years. Mine is a bit different than this version (no loop at the end) but it works for tomatoes and strawberries equally well: https://www.pamperedchef.com/shop/Cook’s+Tools/Fruit+%26+Vegetable+Tools/Core+%26+More/1176

Water works great alone for wrinkles–but the sprayer needs to be a FINE mist for it to work well.

The strawberry huller is great. D bought me one from Amazon after she saw a friend use it prepping for a party.

Just had a presentation from Pampered Chef. They have some new products coming out (order after Sept). They have improved some products. Will update this thread later when I have time to post.

Dawn Platinum Power Clean is the greatest dish soap EVER! I also use it for many other clean-up jobs. You can get it at almost any store. I’ve included a link to Amazon so you can see what it looks like.

So whoever put up the solar lantern (#sorryI’mtoolazytogobackandcheck), I ordered one for me and one for D and her H.
Thanks. Thanks a lot–end of summer for two educators; we haven’t seen a paycheck in months, and I’m ordering stuff. sigh.

@AHSTeacher Yes! to that Platinum Dawn!

I like this one, too, but this price is too high.

Big bottles of Platinum Dawn at Costco.

My egg cooker arrived this afternoon. Will give it a try in the morning.

my2sunz, I found Dawn Power Dissolver (12 or 16 oz bottle) at Walmart not long ago. I swear by the stuff, too.

I hated my stainless steel fridge because fingerprints and waterspots (from ice and water dispenser) made it look terrible all the time. I tried the special wipes, I tried rubbing alcohol with lavender oil, I tried various spray cleaners for stainless…it always looked terrible. We got a housekeeper and it looked beautiful - not just that day but for the two weeks until she came back.

She uses this.

No more streaks or fingerprints (well, except those butter and jelly prints on the handles after somebody has toast and wants more milk).

My consulting job is in a kitchen lab right now and it is stainless everything.

We use Fantastik and it works great. Always with the grain. Give that a try, too.

@dragonmom Does she buy it elsewhere? That seems pricey.

I wonder if that’s essentially WD-40

I doubt she buys it online. I thought it was too pricey on Amazon also. I think I would recognize the smell of WD40, so it’s not that.

I buy that Stainless cleaner. I get my cleaning supplies at both Osh and Home Depot. I think I buy the Stainless cleaner at Osh. I use it on my oven and my hood. One can last me at least a year.
Used the Nordic egg cooker this am. Cooked them 6 minutes with a 2 minute rest. Eggs were from Costco and on the older side. I wanted a medium egg. I cooked 2. One peeled super easy the other was more difficult to get all the shell off and I lost a small amount of white to the shell. It leads me to believe that ease of peeling ivaries egg to egg regardless of technique. I’m very happy and I would use it again. The egg was a perfect medium. My microwave is just a few years old. Not sure of wattage but I assume high.

I love this and the price. I bought one for each of my kids, too.

That price is amazing. And, in my humble opinion works as well as that crazy priced one.

I also love this

I don’t much use the panini press part, but I use the pan for meats…nice grill marks.

For the low down on Pamper’s Chef. Consultant showed us the new stuff and they have a little pamphlet with the new stuff. One item is a veggie strip maker set (comes with a smaller cook book, cost $16.50) - it is all plastic, but the plastic is hard enough to cut these strip of veggies - for example she made zucchini pancakes which had a little cheese but tasted wonderful. Says carrots can even work with this strip maker.

PC is coming out with healthier eating theme - I guess they realize they need to capture people who are getting away from processed foods. And dieting so preparing low calorie options.

They have an update on their measure, mix and pour ($13.50) which has healthy salad dressing recipes on the side of the product (old one had higher calorie recipes). Have to place an order after Sept 1 when the ‘healthy’ measure mix and pour will be available.

We use bamboo tongs (which use to be very reasonable, like $2) but now are $8 - bought for my kids’ kitchens.

They have some handy kitchen gadgets like a Kernel Cutter (strip corn off the cob). I gave one to my sis (who lives in Iowa and gets fresh corn to can/freeze).

I am getting large round stone for kids’ kitchens - for making pizza in oven or heating frozen/fresh prepared pizza. Use my stone products a lot.

They have a couple of ‘keep it hot’ carrier products - one is a hot cookware sweater (2 sizes available) that is made out of that neoprene material (like potholders that can take really high heat). They show it with their Rockcrok Casserole/4 qt covered casserole, and Dutch Oven and 8 qt stockpots.

Another is a versatile carrier that has the straps inside to hold in their deep covered baker (which I use heavily - cooks things in microwave and tastes like oven baked - frozen lasagna etc) and can hold two levels of 9 X 13 baking pan with the cooling rack as the 2nd level support. Says can hold up to 30 lb.

They have a medium and large cover for sheet pans - they are pretty proud of their sheet pans ($16 and $19) - their cover and store lids are unique, $16 and $19. They have a brownie pan and a muffin pan that you can use the cover and store lid on. I got the kids the brownie pan (sections like a muffin pan). If I get a sheet pan lid, I want to make sure one of my sheet pans will work and save $19.

Out of all of my PC items, the one I absolutely would not give up is my deep covered baker (I have bought for kids’ kitchens along with the covered baker recipe book). We heavily use the skinny scraper (spatula) and bamboo tongs. Love to make pizza on the pizza stone.

If you don’t have a very good pizza cutter, they have a new one that also has a separate edge for crust cutting; $15.

So have a few more things to add to my kitchen and my kids’ kitchens.
